Canadian hotel industry's occupancy decreases by 0.4%

Saturday, July 28, 2012 - Canada’s hotel industry reported mixed results in the three key performance metrics for the week of 15-21 July 2012, according to data from STR. In year-over-year measurements, the country’s hotel occupancy ended the week virtually flat with a 0.4-percent decrease to 74.3 percent, its average daily rate was up 2.4 percent to CAD$134.96 and its revenue per available room increased 1.9 percent to CAD$100.26.

Changi Airport: Operating indicators for June 2012

Monday, July 23, 2012 - Singapore Changi Airport handled 4.4 million passenger movements in June 2012, 9.7% more than a year before.  There were 26,700 landings and take-offs at Changi during the month, a growth of 6.4% year-on-year.

For the first half of 2012, Changi Airport handled 25.0 million passengers, an increase of 11.6% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Canada's hotel industry occupancy reported 0.8 percent increase

Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Canada’s hotel industry reported mixed results in the three key performance metrics for the week of 8-14 July 2012, according to data from STR. In year-over-year measurements, the country’s hotel occupancy ended the week virtually flat with a 0.8-percent increase to 75.7 percent, its average daily rate was up 6.1 percent to CAD$144.10 and its revenue per available room increased 6.8 percent to CAD$109.02.

Deal signed to deliver rail grinding machine to NZ

Southwest Airlines Co. reported its second quarter 2012 results.  Second quarter 2012 net income was $228 million, or $.30 per diluted share, which included $45 million (net) of unfavorable special items.  This compared to net income of $161 million, or $.21 per diluted share, in second quarter 2011, which included favorable special items totaling $40 million (net).

Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Korean Air announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2012 ended June 30, 2012. The airline posted operating income of 3,119 billion KRW for the second quarter of 2012, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%. Operating profit turned to black from a loss of 38 billion KRW in the same period of last year to a profit of 100 billion KRW.
